Tips for taking accurate body measurements
Take your measurements once.
Keep a record of them handy.
Refer to them when you shop online.
You may also find your front rise and inside leg measurements to be handy also.
Waist - Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waistline, between your rib and hip bones.
Hips - Measure around the fullest part of your hips, so that the tape is able to drop down over your thighs.
Front Rise - The simplest way is to measure is from the crotch to the top of the front waistband of your best fitting pair of pants.
Inside Leg - The simplest way is to measure from the crotch to the hem, down the inside leg of your best fitting pair of pants.
More helpful tips
- Stand straight and relaxed.
- Use a mirror to check that your tape is positioned correctly.
- Make sure that the tape measure is: close to your body, but not too tight, flat with no twists and parallel to the floor.
